School Violence - A Teacher's Nightmare
We hear more and more in the media about kids and violence, from small episodes of in-school bullying to large-scale incidents that cost lives. Teachers everywhere are concerned, yet often feel helpless to predict, prevent, or intervene. This workshop focuses on those three concerns, with discussion of some possible ways to predict in-school violence before it happens, prevent it when it is on the immediate horizon, and intervene safely when school violence occurs.
We also discuss a school-wide and system-wide violence prevention plans. This program is developed in coordination with the National Center for Crisis Management and includes a copy of Comprehensive Acute Traumatic Stress Management for each participant. Participants who attend the full program will receive a Certificate of Attendance from the National Center for Crisis Management, where Bob is a member of the Premier Speaker's Bureau.
