Learning From Our Students: Educational Case Studies
This program is designed for schools and educators, especially those trying to deal with Special Education students in mainstream classrooms. As more and more students are special needs identified, their educators are faced with increasing challenges. How to meet every student’s special needs and still teach the class is a huge dilemma. How to manage the student who’s just uncontrollable and disrupting the rest of the class is a constant struggle.
For this workshop, educators are asked to arrive prepared with a short case study; it doesn’t have to be written—just identify one student for discussion and be prepared to discuss him or her. Depending upon the time allotted and the number of participants, we will review a few cases presented by the participants, looking at each case from a psychoeducational perspective. With Bob Pelosi, you will examine ways to intervene with the student within the context of the classroom setting. This program is designed to help broaden the educator’s knowledge of behavioral intervention techniques using real case examples from your classroom.
Recommended for classroom teachers, paraprofessionals and school guidance and administrative staff, this workshop may be scheduled from 2 to 6 hours.
